Retractable Garden Hose Reel

Because of the coiled nature of their design, Retractable Hose Reels are prone to reducing water pressure output, which can negatively impact your watering experience. Whilst standard hose reels have a 12mm internal hose diameter, our Hi-Flow Reels feature a slightly larger 14mm diameter hose, resulting in up to 25% better water flow output than standard reels. For this reason, we suggest anyone experiencing low or medium water pressure, or anyone connected to tank water, to opt for the Hi-Flow model to minimise loss of pressure. If your water pressure is high, then a standard model should be fine.

Yes, you can attach an additional length of hose to the main hose on the Hose Reel, however, the additional hose will not be able to retract back inside the unit. To be able to join on the additional hose you will need to fit it with Hoselink's Hose End Connectors (also known as a Hose Joiner Set) at either end.

Hoselink Retractable Hose Reels have a 2m Leader Hose already attached, this is the hose that supplies water from the tap to the hose reel unit. Although you cannot swap this leader hose for a longer length, it is easy to add an additional length of hose that is fitted with Hoselink Hose End Connectors. For your convenience, we sell Leader Hose Extensions in 1.5m and 5m lengths.

Our standard Retractable Hose Reel models are available in 15m, 20m, 25m and 30m lengths. The Hi-flow Model is available in 25m only.

Yes, you can attach a padlock to one of the holes at the bottom of the pole that slides into the wall bracket. This will secure the hose reel unit to the wall bracket so it cannot be lifted off. For your convenience, we have padlocks available to suit this requirement.

We have two permanent free-standing mounting options if you are unable to mount the hose reel bracket to a wall. The low-profile Fixed Ground Mount is suited to concrete or deck surfaces and is screwed down to create a secure hold. The Retractable Hose Reel Mounting Post is concreted into the ground to secure it and is the best option for garden beds. Both options are sold separately. Please note the Retractable Hose Reels come as a complete package, so the wall bracket cannot be exchanged for an alternative mounting option.

We have designed an adapter that connects a 'click-on' attachment to the Hoselink system, so it’s a good idea to purchase the ‘Click-on Adapter Set’ in addition to your hose reel. This connector is essential when using pre-packaged weed and feed spray-on products that have a moulded click-on fitting. However, if you are connecting to an existing sprinkler, sprayer or pressure washer, it’s good to know that you can most likely convert that accessory over to the Hoselink system – thereby creating a 100% reliable connection. It’s easy to do – see if you can unscrew the 'click-on' attachment, then it’s just a matter of exchanging it for a suitable Hoselink connector (usually a Tap Connector in the case of pressure washers, or an Accessory Connector in the case of sprinklers and sprayers). We recommend purchasing the Accessory Conversion Bundle to ensure you have the right type of connector no matter what you’re trying to connect to.

It’s completely up to you! It all depends on the length and width of your garden, the amount of flora you may tend to and the amount you're willing to spend. Each size is backed by the same great quality and functionality, and will service your garden as needed.

After watering, gently pull the hose towards you to trigger the built-in automatic rewind system – you’ll hear it click. From there the unified self-layering mechanism efficiently coils the hose back into the reel as you slowly walk it back in. Make sure not to let go, just to avoid potential damage if it were to drag along the ground.

Unfortunately Hoselink does not currently offer an installation service. Our easy-to-follow, step-by-step instruction manual and online installation video will provide all the help you need.

Most definitely! Every component of the reel has been designed with the utmost care and attention to detail. There are no sharp edges, hazardous materials or parts that could be detached and swallowed. Hoselink prides itself on ensuring care and safety within the family home, in fact, we encourage you to actively involve the kids in your week-to-week outdoor activities and let them experience the joys of gardening too.

Yes! We even have a slow retract feature to ensure walking the hose back into the reel is as safe and easy as possible. It is worth noting that, as our Retractable Hose Reels are spring-loaded, the springs do need to be set tightly to guarantee the retracting mechanism operates properly and the hose retracts fully, which can make it feel heavy to pull the hose out. However, the tension within the spring will naturally alleviate over time and this will become easier. If the hose tension continues to be an inconvenience, feel free to give us a call and we can look into adjusting it.

Definitely. Like all our products, our reels are UV stabilised, designed to stand up to the hot Australian sun and all manner of weather conditions. To help protect it we recommend purchasing a Hose Reel Cover, which not only looks attractive, but it protects and extends the lifetime of the outer casing. Please note, external colour fading will not affect the reel’s performance.
