Hoselink 25 metre retractable reel and accessories

After much consideration and research I finally decided to buy the 25 metre reel . So far so good . It's not mentioned anywhere but I found the template for the reel mount most helpful . I stuck it on the wall and then drilled the 4 holes required. For my way of thinking the product really needs at least 1 retail shop in each state . I would have made my purchase much sooner if I could actually attend a retail shop touch , feel , fiddle with the product whilst asking questions . I was considering purchasing a high flow reel as pressure is poor in the Gawler region . I asked some questions over the phone but it wasn't clear to me if I always had to use the orange fittings or the standard green ones and I just thought too hard and bought the standard one . The standard reel works excellently although it's unknown to me if the high flow would have suited my needs better. For me security of the reel was paramount as we have no front fence and the reel is mounted on an external wall close to the boundary . Initially I thought I'll keep it in the shed secured and carry it to the mounting point when I wanted to use it . The unit is rather heavy and doing this every time made watering a chore and my wife found it too heavy. I decided to risk it and mount it permanently in situ. I purchased some non reversible screws for the mounting and drilled the hole for the padlock on the reel post slightly larger so I could use a slightly more substantial padlock. I always exercise extreme caution when retracting the hose as it obviously has some sort of auto layering mechanism inside . On one occasion I noticed it didn't layer properly and sort of jammed at that point on the next use. I pulled the hose out and carefully let it re retract and it was all good , rectified itself. It did make me think about the longevity of this important feature layering auto retraction of the hose . I'm sure I read in the information that under no circumstances are consumers to open the casing . Personally I would prefer if the reel post were even thicker to be able to put a full size padlock through it. With my purchase we got a gift and I chose the car wash brush . To date I haven't used it on my cars but rather my roller doors and roller shutters. It works fantastic. Maybe a future product development would be to allow a detergent / cleaner container fixed to the brush somewhere so it applies detergent as you brush your car . As is its only running water. Still it's very good. My secondary purchase was a number of accessories and a Christmas gift for my father in law. I bought a cover for my reel , another wall mount for the rear of the house, several spare hose fittings , several spare black rubber washers and white split rings. Apparently if not careful black rubber sealing washers can be lost fairly easily which brings me back to my point about the need for a local shop . If this happened for example late on a Friday my hoselink would basically be inoperable until replacements arrived , if ordered on the following Monday potentially waiting up to 10 days , which would be unacceptable . So I ordered in advance for just in case. Probably the only product I was actually disappointed in was the hoselink cap I purchased. Overall all the products I purchased appear of the highest quality with the exception of the cap. It strikes me as a perfect cap to give away free at trade shows or include free with large orders. I would have paid more for a premium cap. Lastly my wife because of the weight of the unit suggested making a hoselink reel on some sort of trolley that could more easily be moved around and eliminate drilling holes etc. I guess the issue would be pulling it over when trying to pull the hose out . To date no connections have dripped at all . No connectors have burst at all. It's really the connectors that are unique to hoselink as the reels and all the others sprinklers and accessories are for want of a better term generic items. Overall I am very happy with my purchase , it is expensive but it is a premium product. Overall I would rate my purchase 8.5 out of 10 .

Sprinkler gives great water cover and spray comes out quite hard so the hose pressure doesnt have to be high. Love all my products.

Fantastic product we have two hose reels and can not fault either of them. I would like an additional wall bracket to move hose as I am on a large block
