HOSELINK discontinues advertising with "The Circle". Founder offended by comments.
Following recent comments made regarding Corporal Benjamin Roberts-Smith,VC by hosts of Channel 10's "The Circle", Hoselink has made the decision to no longer be associated with the program.
Tim Kierath, the founder of Hoselink, was personally offended by the comments that were made.
Tim's uncle, Reg Kierath (his father's brother), was one of the 2 Australians in the "Great Escape" from Stalg Luft 111 in World War 2 on 24-25 March 1944. Reg, along with his school friend John Williams, were both caught and executed by the Gestapo along with 48 other POW's. His father's other brother, Greg, was shot down and killed 2 years earlier.
Recent events come at a particularly significant time, as Tim and his wife Nicky will be attending The Great Escape Memorial Service to be held on 24th March 2012 at the RAAF Base in Williamtown, NSW.
Tim's brother Peter Kierath will attend a sister service being held at the same time in the Czech Republic.
